Map the occupied and construction areas
Show tenant spaces, public routes, emergency access and the boundaries of the work. Identify who authorizes closures and who communicates changes to occupants.
Review equipment and material movement
Doorways, elevators, stairs and floor loading affect access. The inside route and the outside loading area should be considered together, including protection of finished surfaces.
Plan controls for the actual task
Dust, water, slurry, noise and ventilation need project-specific controls. OSHA publishes construction silica requirements; controls and any respiratory protection must be selected for the actual task and exposure conditions.
Confirm the reopening criteria
Define what must be complete before an area is released: cleanup, protection, inspection, curing or follow-on work. A 24/7 contact number does not waive the building rules or mean every task can run at any hour.
Planning reference: OSHA construction silica information. Requirements and methods must be assessed for the actual project.
