Core Drilling Project Requests

Round penetrations, specified before they are drilled.

Start with a clearly defined scope.

For plumbing, mechanical and electrical penetrations, submit a hole schedule showing the quantity, diameter and location of each core. Specialty drilling requests are reviewed for equipment, access and availability before a method or production schedule is offered.

Typical project requests

  • Utility penetration requests
  • Sleeve and pipe openings
  • Concrete sampling access requests
  • Coordination with follow-on trades

What to send for an estimate

The more accurately the request describes the site, the more useful the scope review can be. Mark uncertain dimensions or conditions as unknown rather than treating them as confirmed.

  • Hole diameters and quantities
  • Member thickness and orientation
  • Drawings and scan information
  • Access above and below the opening

A planning detail that matters

Core drilling through structural members or a post-tensioned slab needs project-specific review. Do not assume an apparently clear surface is free of embedded hazards. Scanning and engineering, when required, must be assigned explicitly.

Make the handoff clear.

Tell us who controls the property, which adjacent areas remain in use and who handles the work before and after this scope. Removal, disposal, replacement, permits, engineering and specialty services should be identified separately in the written proposal.

Before you request pricing

Can I send photos before a site visit?

Yes. Email wide site views, close material views and the access route. Include the project address and any plans. Photos help with initial review but do not replace any site investigation needed for a final proposal.

Can this be combined with other concrete work?

Send the complete desired result. Related cutting, removal, hauling, sitework and new concrete can be reviewed together, with each accepted part of the scope stated in the proposal.

Does 24/7 mean an immediate crew arrival?

No. Phone and email inquiries are open 24/7. Acceptance, arrival time and work hours depend on project review, travel, access, required approvals and crew scheduling.
